The tile is used in living areas and bathrooms and is usually laid on floors. However, it can also be used as a wall tile depending upon area. The tile can also be used outdoors without hesitation thanks to its frost protection.
Easy maintenance: As porcelain stoneware is highly resistant to acids, it is very easy to maintain. You can use citric acid or vinegar, for example. These can be used to remove rust or limescale, for example. In most cases, however, the tiles can be cleaned with warm water as they are dirt-repellent.
Moisture resistance: : In the manufacture of porcelain stoneware tiles, the materials are finely ground and then fused together. Due to the high melting point, they can be almost completely combined. The materials are then pressed under very high pressure. For these reasons, porcelain stoneware tiles can hardly absorb any liquid and are therefore virtually waterproof.
Frost resistance: Due to the low water absorption of the tile, it is frost-resistant when laid correctly. This makes it ideal for laying on balconies and terraces.
Abrasion group 4: The tile is suitable for areas subject to very heavy wear. These include floor coverings in restaurants, entrances, offices, hotels, schools and salesrooms.
Slip resistance: The porcelain stoneware tile has a slip resistance rating of R10. This means that it has a normal static friction coefficient. The tile is therefore slip-resistant for angles of inclination of 10-19° and is suitable for kitchens and sanitary facilities.
Barefoot area: The tile is suitable for the barefoot area of group A. This means a minimum angle of inclination of 12°. Tiles with this property are therefore suitable for largely dry barefoot corridors and sanitary areas, as well as changing rooms.
Colored through: This property means that there is no variation in color when damage occurs to the surface of the porcelain stoneware tile. The reason for this is that the tile is colored throughout. This means that the inner part of the tile is also identical in color to the surface.
Durability: The tile is scratch and fire-resistant due to its material. It is also resistant to bacteria, viruses, fungi and mold.
Rectified: The porcelain stoneware tile is pressed into shape during production. This creates a slightly angled edge. In rare cases, these edges are uniform. They are therefore processed with a diamond saw during the rectification process. This can remove many unevenness and create an edge with a 90° angle. This process makes it possible to lay tiles with very small joints from 2 mm.
